is anyone else planning or doing something similar? Or has already done?

I wanted to try something but in our position I think they'd take away most of our benefits so we'd be in the shit!!! its a great idea though!! x

I am hoping to start an access course soon(ish) from home, so that I can start a midwifery degree in 2012, it's a way off, and unfortunately midwifery is one of those degrees you just can't do from home, but by then Jak and Summer will both be in school, and Noah with have just turned 2, it sucks that I'll have to leave him in a nursery, but it's worth it in the end, means I'll be able to give them the best I can Very Happy

Home Learning Empty my plans

Post by ameerah Wed Mar 03, 2010 8:33 am

I am hoping to start school in September (college)...I don't think I
will learn as well from home as I will actually being there in class,
so I am going to be going part-time in the evenings and on Saturdays. I
currently work abit and get some benefits. The program I get benefits
from will assist me with going to school so that is really nice.

I'm doing an OU course in Humanities at the moment and finish that one in May - and then I'm doing a Literature one in October. If you are in receipt of benefits, then the OU will pay for your course xxxxx

If you're a full time university student, you're not entitled to imcome support etc. I start back in January next year and they'll take away some of my benefits because i'll be full time. You do however get a massive loan for having a dependant and upto £5000 'access to learning' grant depending on what your course is and your circumstances!
