Seems Summer hit the terrible 2s a bit early, and now isn't the best time for it really, I'm not coping to well as it is, Jak didnt get there until he was nearly 3, but the tantrums are unbearable, we've had 2 today, she sits on the floor and screams, she's so stubborn, I could just scream, OK rant over, I've had a bad day, I'm not 100% on how to deal with it to be honest, Jak has tantrums and I just ignore him, they are usual when we are at home, so it's easy, Summer's seem to be when we're out, and fighting with a kicking screaming toddler with SPD is really not easy, generally she's strapped in the pushchair, but she's starting to hate this, and screams when she's in there, I need to find her some toys I can attach (any ideas on these??) We've tried wrist links and reins but she still just sits on the floor, anyway, I'll be fine in a day or 2, I just needed to vent, and if anyone has any advice, even better!

How about if shes in a carrier? But then again i bet she'll be too heavy on your back now won't she Sad gah i'm so not looking foward to terrible 2's!!! If your out with your OH maybe he can have carry her? she might enjoy being on his back.

As for push chair toys, what about looking for carseat toys cause they're like the same idea and you can strap them accross I think ! might be a better shot!

Awww bless you i bet its hell with your spd Sad hope things improve soon ^_^ xxx

Slinging is just as bad, she just wants to, today has been better, she's happy sitting on OHs shoulders, I just wish I could carry her on my shoulders, she's about 20lb, and don't think it would help my SPD even if she would go in the sling

Flutterby, I am not sure how it is where you are from. But where I am from many shopping malls/stores have carts that have a seat attached so that the child can be facing you. Doesn't it help for baby to be able to see you?

Also, for in a vehicle if that is a problem you could get a mirror that attaches to the seat in front so that baby can see entertain itself. Smile

As for temper tantrums, my son has not hit that yet, but when I used to take his half-brother out (his dad has another son that is 5 years older than my son), he would sometimes throw fits in public. When he was around the age of 2-3. His dad would talk calmly but sternly to him, pick him up and hold him until he stopped, but he would NOT leave the store because he believed, and I agree, that that just teaches the child that they win. I know I will be doing the same thing with my son if and when he does is.

Maybe this helped a little? I wish you all the best, kids are amazing, but can be a little trying at times. Razz
