Inserts
- the absorbent part that is put into a pocket nappy, pocket nappies
often come with their own inserts or have ones designed to go with
them, however, generally any absorbent material can be used!
Booster
- a booster is a rounded retangle shape layered material designed to be
an added extra to the nappy if it is needed. It can be used inside
shaped nappies (or between the nappy and the wrap) or in pocket
nappies. Especially recommended for night time when extra absorbancy is
needed.
Liners - Can be paper, fleece, suedecloth, silk, or
even silver! They can be useful but a not a nessesity they are put
inside a nappy next to babies skin. Paper liners are disposable and can
be flushed down the toilet after use, however can be washed if not
soiled. Fleece and suedecloth liners work as a stay dry layer, they let
moisture though but still feel dry to touch, fleece rarely stains and
solid will roll off so it is a good choice for a liner. Silk and silver
are especially for tackling nappy rash, both are known for their
natural antibacterial properties, however silk has to be handwashed,
where silver can be washed in the machine up to 60!
Wraps - wraps are the waterproof part that go over the top of a 2 parter nappy.
