Who planned their pregnancy and who was surprised?

I was just wondering how many pregnancies were planned and how many were a complete surprise? Share your stories!

I'll start of by saying I didn't plan my pregnancy nor did I prevent it. Both my boyfriend and I had discussed having children in the future but neither of us really expected it to happen so soon! ..I woke one morning after Bob had left for school and had suddenly got the urge to take a pregnancy test. Sure enough it was positive! And 4 more tests later it was still positive! (I was in disbelief). I was a nervous wreck waiting for Bob to get home wondering how he would feel and what he would think. Luckily when I broke the news to him he was thrilled!! We contacted Planned Parenthood and got a professional pregnancy test to confirm that I was in fact pregnant! ..We later broke the news to my parents who were also thrilled to know that they would be grandparents again (my sister has a 4 year old daughter). We then broke the news to Bob's parents who weren't as happy with the idea at first. Bob is quite a bit older than me and hes currently attending college to be a plumber, so for his parents it was really a matter of bad timing. As my pregnancy progressed however, eveyone became more accustomed to the idea of welcoming a new life into the world, and now both families are completely thrilled and are counting down the days until our little one arrives!! We now have our own place and are anxiously preparing the nursery for our bundle of joy! My boyfriend and I both agree that getting pregnant has been the best thing to ever happen to us and we know it will only keep getting better!! ..Thats my story! I look forward to hearing everyone elses too!!

okay so I was with my ex for 3 years we broke up , and I was on "rebound" and started dating Brian(we dating for like 3 weeks)... one night we were at his friends house drinking, and I think I had a little too much, and started talking about my ex, he got mad, I got mouthy, some how we ended up having sex, he said he would pull out, and I asked if he did tmi, and he said so, but looking back I'm pretty sure he didn't. well we broke up the next day then few weeks later... my mom tells me to take a pregnancy test then I took another then another then i went to the clinic and took another then I went to the doctors and asked for one lol and said if I has this many positives I don't need more ahaha everyone i knew was very upset but now they all love him

Awww its nice that they came to terms with it in the end though I don't know wht I'd do without my family!! They've all been so exited and supoprtive since day one!!

Ours was DEFFINATLY not planned christ, ive never even liked kids!! let alone wanted one xD !!! now she's here though i wouldnt change it for the world I got pregnant after 3 years on depo (2% chance and it happend to me of all people!!!) so was a complete shock when we found out! me and matt are pretty solid though and we lived together so we thought why not?? plus i've always said no matter how much i dont want kids I'd never have an abortion no matter what situation I was in, i'd just have to deal with it.

So thats my story ! pretty boring xD but there ya go ! x

Ours wasn't completely planned in that we weren't trying but we weren't exactly doing our best to prevent it happening either. My first pregnancy with Phil (I had a m/c when I was 16) was completely unplanned. We found out on NYE 08 when I realised I was 10 days late and took a test. We were both in tears because we were both at uni and didn't know how we were going to cope. We came around to the idea and by the time of our 12 week scan we were really excited. Unfortunately at the scan they couldn't find a heartbeat and I started to lose her that day. We were devestated and after that we knew we really wanted a baby. Well what should have been our angel's due date came along and we were planting some forget me nots in the garden for her and I just had this really overwhelming feeling that I was pregnant. I wasn't sure about taking a test because I knew if it came back negative it would make the day even worse but I think I just knew. We pretty much ran to the sainsburys around the corner and OH waited downstairs while I did the test. The second line came up straight away but I had to take another test to convince OH. Sure enough, another BFP. It felt like it was a gift from our angel and here I am at almost 32 weeks - third time lucky .

Jellyt you just made me tear up!! Your story and everyone elses are exactly the reason why I believe that a baby planned or unplanned is always meant to be!! Its a gift from god and nothing less!

Deffinatly! Awwww beckie it really does go to show that every cloud has a silver lining ^_^ nothing will ever replace a loss but time heals wounds and like in your story, new flowers will grow and replace bad memorys with lovely ones xxx

both were little surprises for me first time me and OH werent really takingprecautions seriously so was a little stupid of us, but when we concieved Harriet it was still a shock! people werent too happy at first but after a few weeks they were all so excited! shes such a spoilt little girl haha all our families love her to peices and always buying her stuff..little monkey.
This one however happened due to condom failing LOL so definately a huge huge shock seeing as we had a 3 month old at the time. OH family still havent really accept the pregnancy and people dont really talk about it but we are every excited and i know HArriets going to be a fab sister. My family are quite exited now though tbh. Hes due the day after my dads birthday, and our 2 year anniversary and 2 weeks after harriets birthday so hes due at a very special time x

Sorry for making you teary hehe. I agree though, I do think it's always meant to be and everything happens for a reason, I have to think that way

Aww that's so nice and true! Speaking of flowers...we planted forget me nots last year and they're supposed to start growing soon...I hope they work! xxx

Ok so im the only wierdo who has never taken a pregnancy test?

well i did once, but that was like nearly 2 years ago and pure paranoioa lol.
But yeh, by the time i foundout i was pregnant...well i didnt really need a pregnancy test lol as i found out at 7 months gone
Our confirmation was a scan where i saw my little man rolling around in my belly and they told us 7 months, cav nearly fell offhis chair and i ...well i dont remmeber much after that except being put into a little room with cav to "talk"

wtf there is to talk about at that point iv no idea...there was a lot of open mouthed head shaking going on LOL
but back to the original happenings...
well me and cav must of been going out for just under a year at that point, it would of been around christmas/new year i think....i was on the pill, and i can honestly swear, hand on heart - i have never missed a day of the pill.
I was soooo good with it when i did miss a day i used to make us not do anything for the 7 days the pack sed there was a 40% chance i might not be covered....and so yup
my pregnancy was a TOTAL suprise
a brilliant one tho...
at the time there was a lot of shock and a lot of tears but in the end i dont think theres a more loved and cared for little boy in the whole world.

Jaymee was a Surprise Kind of . I was having Issues with my Birth Control and iquit taking it and 4 days later i was Pregnant i didnt think id get pregnant that quick but i guess i should of been Smarter Still wouldnt Change it Love my little girl to Bits

I wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant naturally. And because my doctor told me I would need FT if I wanted children, I wasn't too worried about falling pregnant. So when I was dating FOB we weren't really steady with protection. We were in the begining though, for STD/STI protection, but after we were sure the other one was clear, it was like "Ah, what the hell."

I went to my GP because I thought I had the flu and H1N1 was really bad at the time. She asked said she wanted to do a test just to be 100% certain I wasn't pregnant. When she came back in the room I thought SHE was going to cry! (she's been my doctor since I was a little girl)

I'm not with FOB now, as he wanted nothing more than for me to "make his life easier." Even though it was a complete miracle that I was pregnant in the first place! I'm okay with that though.

Well, me and hubby we're actually trying for a honeymoon baby but sadly never happened, we gave up trying for a while, and weeks went past and i wasn't feeling myself at all - Much to hubbys amusement!, he kept joking around with me saying i was actually pregnant and i was denying it all along just saying somethings not agreeing with me, so we had a bet on so he went onto ebay and ordered me some german pregnancy tests haha!

Few working days past and finally got my pregnancy tests, Hubby was at work when they arrived so i thought id get it over and done with so i couldn't gloat at him when he come home when their negetive, took them and left them on the side and got on with the washing, within a few minuites lovely red line came up on one, i was horrified and thought it was a dod test at first..So i threw it in the bin, later that day..Hubby came home so we took one together, it involved me holding my pee for a while, so i was relieved he was home to be honest ..Did one test and there it was again, bright red line..I left the other one until the next day and the line was even redder.

So we can safely say my hubby won that bet haha

My pregnancy was a complete suprise pregnancy i didnt find out until i was 13 weeks gone, i couldn't believe it but me and my boyfriend are so happy and cant wait until our little girl is here x

Starting seeing Mick in october , we started having sex in the march using condoms and i found out i was pregnant end of may ..my cycles havent ever been regular so wasnt sure of due date until i had a scan ...very unplanned ...Mick as now disowed me told his mum that we never had sex so he is 100% sure the baby isnt is , so its just me and my bump from here on in

We had sort of planned it. We had started trying, then my ex needed a shoulder operation so we stopped TTC until he had healed.

Yeah.....he was still in the sling when I got my BFP lmao
