We have two older rescue cats and two chinchillas (also rescued) Smile. My cats are lovely and no hassle really because they mainly sleep! Apart from they're 12 (tomorrow) and 13 and one of them is losing his marbles a little bit bless him. I'd recommend chinchillas too! Mine are so friendly and I get them out to play quite a lot. They come and sit on my shoulders and one of them pushes a little bouncy ball like a football. I think they'll be great with a LO too because they're really gentle Smile. Anyway, I don't think i'd like my house without pets but that's just me... I say go for it!
